It Hits Harder

I will fly around the world just to forget you
Try not to hit the mountains as I pass through
Blinded by sandstorms no sight of the land below
My little Cessna’s due west and I had to go

Everything dies, It’s just the way
Look for the light starting to break

It hits harder
It hits harder
It hits harder
From up here babe

It’s never winter here, new year without snow
Wish we could talk, so far away I know
But when it rains It’s hard to believe your eyes
Ice on the wings I said all of my goodbyes

Cause everything dies
It’s just the way
Look for the light
Starting to break

It hits harder
It hits harder
It hits harder
From up here babe

Bad Dreams Summertime

I was awakened
A deafening crash
The ground was shaking
Covered in ash
Bad dreams summertime, bad dreams in disguise

False recollections, the wrong soundtrack
The intersection of future and past
Bad dreams summertime, bad dreams in disguise

The bridge was too high, I couldn’t breathe
Right place but wrong time to scream
Bad dreams summertime, bad dreams in disguise

I braced for impact and I went down
Chasing smokestacks, tried not to drown
When my heart began to pound
Could have stayed but left the town

Bad dreams summertime, bad dreams in disguise
Bad dreams summertime, bad dreams in disguise

You Called Her Camellia

It feels like a lifetime since she left in the rain
Heavenly bodies lit up the old highway
You know she loved you but it all changed
All that you ever wanted for her way to stay
Just to be near her to hear her for one more day
You called her Camellia
This wasn’t the deal, her fading away

She is on the desert track twisting the throttle
Always wanted to go fast, well she got to
You know she loved you but it all changed
All that you ever wanted for her way to stay
Just to be near her to hear her for one more day
You called her Camellia
This wasn’t the deal, her fading away

Smoke Screen Selene

I can never go back
Cause its too hard to see you
In the aftermath
Its been forever
I was splitting in two
And put back together
But don’t you let her
destroy you like I did

Smoke screen Selene
Where the hell have you been
With you nautical themes
In your own version
I read your letter
Brought down by distortion
But don’t you let her
Destroy you like I did
Destroy you like I did

All of these visions
Of my hologram hands
Cosmic collisions
Taken over the land
All of these visions
Of my hologram hands
Cosmic collisions
But I know where I stand

New Radiations

Was stuck inside of a faded screen
Was a late night host of the in between
Tried to break the glass tie up the ending of the scene
Set out to ride in the glistening sea
Get out of the gray and out of hiding
Tried to wake at last but seeing nothing

Psychic sensations (you know you saw)
New radiations have taken their toll on me
I was retracing the lines of a memory
I was retracing the lines of a memory

An army of ghosts are on our old road
I’m on the coast you’re dreaming in code
Tried to break the glass tie up the ending of the scene

Psychic sensations (you know you saw)
New radiations have taken their toll on me
I was retracing the lines of a memory
I was retracing the lines of a memory

When it all came back to me
When it all came back to me
It all came back to me

Psychic sensations (you know you saw)
New radiations have taken their toll on me
I was retracing the lines of a memory
I was retracing the lines of a memory

If It's An Illusion

I used to be free, sun on the waves
Now that it’s over
I’m returning to those days
I was frozen
Never could just let him go
Was losing in the afterglow
If it’s an illusion
Well I don’t want to know
I’m still choosing the ground below

Turned off the lights, blocked out the sound
Maybe in another life I would come back down
I was frozen
Never could just let him go
Was losing in the afterglow
If it’s an illusion
Well I don’t want to know
I’m still choosing the ground below

Hatchet Man

The angel made him do it and he made me watch
He thought no one would notice her gone
I’d been watching Alice doesn’t live here anymore
He said he meant no malice as his shadow crossed the floor

I was in over my head, I was in over my head
I couldn’t make him love me only
Would have been better just to live with loneliness
Than all of this

And as he let me go he said he knew I’d not forget him
It could have been you instead, I’m glad I didn’t let him
The outline of my hatchet man was backlit in the door
I wish I could have saved her as the engine roared

I was in over my head, I was in over my head
I couldn’t make him love me only
Would have been better just to live with loneliness
Than all of this

Light Years

Back in the day you were all the rage
When you could still hypnotize her
Rockets and planes and through hurricanes
Fused to the sight of her fire
You used to see light years inside her
You used to be right there beside her

You knew the way
You numbered the days
Cruising the night tried to find her
Then you tried to erase
all the x-rays you took of her, no reminders

You used to see light years inside her
You used to be right there beside her
You used to see light years inside her
You used to be right there beside her

Weightless Above The Water

There was a lake beneath me, 20,000 feet
Upon my reentry to the Star City
The sky took it’s hat off, this spaceship became my home
Weightless above the water, was finally alone
Was ready for flying, without coming back
I saw the horizon, the sun would rise it all all turned black
I left it all behind and I’ve lost contact tonight

You don’t think about the danger, the bluest of the blues
I’m way out of range here but closer to the moon
They forbade me for trying again and again
Had no fear of dying in flames of crimson

Was ready for flying without coming back
I saw the horizon the sun would rise it all turned black
I left it all behind but I’ve lost contact tonight

Was ready for flying without coming back
I saw the horizon the sun would rise it all turned black
I left it all behind but I’ve lost contact tonight

To Be The Moon King

Its the middle of January
He’s looking up at space
To Saturn’s rings burning
Beyond the lunar plane
Chasing stars, scribbling
In mirrors over towns
To stick to the perfect landing
And break the speed of sound

Trying to see what he wanted me to see then
It was finally spring when he found a new dimension
Building rockets behind his house
Crows over his head
To be the moon king
Rising, something more than dead

By the end his days were spent
But he knew that it would work
If he circumvented gravity
And modified the torque

Trying to see what he wanted to see then
It was finally spring when
He found a new dimension
Building rockets behind his house
Piled up in his shed
To be the moon king, rising
Something more than dead
To be the moon king, rising
Something more than dead

Sad Satellite

When you knew me then
Days were filled with snow
Out the windows in the winter with
Ice covering the roads

Click your heels three times
You would always say
As light hits the bones of your face
I’m swimming in your veins

I’m not gonna lie
It was sucking me dry
You could see it in my eyes
Took me for a ride

When I mistook you for the sky
Some kind of second sight
Travelled through time
Just to say goodnight
Like a sad satellite

I was orbiting
Constellations high
We’d walk around the tower in the rain
Now even the cult there has died

Read the leaves you said
This is what it could have been
Instead of just spinning
Around and around again

I’m not gonna lie
It was sucking me dry
You could see it in my eyes
Took me for a ride

When I mistook you for the sky
Some kind of second sight
Travelled through time
Just to say goodnight
Like a sad satellite
